Birthday Week

Growing up my family always celebrated week long birthdays instead of trying to fit all of the events in one day. My mom and dad let us choose 3 birthday meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), they could be homemade or our favorite restaurant. I usually chose a big breakfast, lasagna flavored hamburger helper, and a restaurant. I keep thinking of all the food and restaurants I could have chosen to eat, I wanted hamburger helper??? Apparently I was an odd duck. We had a red, "You are special today," plate which the birthday person obviously used. If there was anything you wanted, now was the time to ask. It's a tradition I wanted to continue after I got married, especially for my birthday! Yesterday, was my handsome pilot's birthday. I had a menu planned and also brought some treats in to his work.By the way, when I make a weekly menu it doesn't always go according to plan, when I don't make something I'll save it for the next week since I already have all the ingredients.  At the request of the birthday boy, we went to the gun show and then to the lake. Below is the birthday week menu.

Monday- Bratwurst, Pasta Salad, Steamed Sugar Snap Peas
Tuesday- Black Bean Burritos (B-day boy choice #2)
Wednesday- Italian Beef Sandwiches (B-day boy choice #1)
Thursday- Ribs, Twice Baked Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole (B-day boy choice #3)
Friday- Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo
Saturday- Chiptole for lunch and whatever the bday boy chose for dinner
Sunday- Corn Soup

The desserts I made were: Sopapilla Cheesecake, Yummy Bars, and White Russian Cupcakes

I know I didn't share a recipe and I promise not to make a habit of it, but I can't help but show off my beautiful family. Enjoy a few pictures from our lake adventure.
