Homemade Apple Pie (Rated 5 per Pilot)

This recipe was given to me by my wonderful mother-in-law. I've heard so many horror stories from my friends and coworkers about their hard times with their in-laws. This is definitely not the case with me. I love my in-laws. They are so supportive and fun to be around. I really could not of joined a better family. LOVE you guys!

While I'm on the subject of family, I only get to visit with my sister about once or twice a year. I've had the opportunity to come and babysit the kids while she was away on business which I really enjoying doing. I have the sweetest nieces and nephews a girl could ask for. These pictures were actually taken last year, while I was visiting. I made an Apple Pie with my youngest niece, aka Duck Lips. We had a blast making it. This will definitely please any crowd and is best served with vanilla ice cream. Another thing you'll need is a large paper bag.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Crust Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup oil
2 Tablespoons cold milk

Directions for Crust: Mix well until blended and pat into a pie pan.

Filling Ingredients:
4 cups sliced apples
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions: Toss lightly into apples, put into pie shell

Topping Ingredients:
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar

Directions: Sprinkle over whole pie. Place the pie in the paper bag. Staple bag or fold over open end. I know you're thinking, the bag is going to catch on fire...for some reason it doesn't. I would use caution though and keep an eye on things just in case. Bake for 1 1/2 hours. Serve immediately with ice cream or whip cream.
